Eye On Distributed Capture – There are many reasons for an organization to distribute scanning and indexing to the locations where paper is generated. Significant cost reductions are gained by eliminating shipping costs, accelerating inpu,t and by increased accuracy, since document processing can be done by the people most familiar with the document. This session features highlights from the recently released Distributed Capture Survey Report, sponsored by Datacap and Canon, and will feature a look at the latest version of Taskmaster Web.

Picture Perfect Document Identification – Wordfire! – Why is document identification important?  Not only does it determine where Taskmaster should look for data on a document, but it dictates all business rules about document handling, including workflow routing and storage requirements. This session will hone in on all the techniques used in Taskmaster to identify documents, with a special emphasis on Wordfire Classify, Datacap’s solution that uses text analytics to identify documents that might otherwise look very similar. This session will provide a look at new customer applications from Metafile and Xenosoft who are taking advantage of Taskmaster in a web-based service. Datacap was one of the first of Visioneer’s partners to integrate their One-Touch technology for fast and easy scanning directly into Taskmaster. DocFinity OIT will recount its workflow features used by Datacap-OIT customer Ohio State University and others.

Intuitive Capture – for Highly Variable Documents – When Datacap developed its DNA technology for invoice capture, it pointed the way towards the capture of unstructured and highly variable documents.  This session will break down the document ID and data location strategies enabled by DNA (Dynamic Natural Analysis) and show how to configure Taskmaster for the capture of sales orders, bills of lading, expense reports, bank statements, legal contracts and human resources documents. Special attention will be paid to capturing the healthcare Explanation of Benefit.

Understanding the Rules – Procedural rules in Taskmaster drive every capture function in an application, as directed by Rulerunner service. This unique rules architecture replaces the tedious and expensive programming required by other capture systems. This session will help you master the principles of Datacap Rules and Actions. With hundreds of pre-scripted rules in Taskmaster’s Rules Library (which can be easily modified), Taskmaster’s unique rules architecture make implementations and on-the-fly adaptation faster and more cost-effective. This session will show you how to work with Datacap Studio, Taskmaster’s Rules control and testing environment, to configure, test and modify new applications.

Customizing the Taskmaster Web Verify Panel – Taskmaster Web is a true, browser-based capture solution that has been powering robust thin client implementations since the dawn of the new millennium. Taskmaster Web runs on a variety of browsers, which presents new opportunities and new challenges for custom verify panels.  This session will deliver the goods on how to build verify panels that make distributed indexing and data capture fast and intuitive.

Foresight on SOA Capture – The prognosticators have been predicting that Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) is the way of the future for enterprise productivity software. Indeed, Datacap can attest that more IT departments are implementing SOA strategies. Datacap Taskmaster was the first capture solution to support SOA, winning a “Best of AIIM” in the process. This session will focus on understanding SOA capture in general and how to implement Datacap Rulerunner as a Web Service.

This session will focus on tips and tricks for installing and setting up Taskmaster 7.5 applications – often a significant challenge in today’s complex Microsoft environments. This session will present best practices for efficient set-up of Datacap Studio and Taskmaster Web applications.

Legible Results from Handprint Capture – Perhaps you think that capturing your hand-filled forms is a waste of time and money. Perhaps you should think again. Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) has come a long way lately. If you have forms and documents featuring handprint, whether constrained or freeform, chances are good that, up to now, you have had to key those fields manually. This session will look at the strategies for capturing handprint. We’ll put extra emphasis on the latest solutions for free form handprint, by looking at solutions designed in Taskmaster for TV Guide and the Baltimore Sun, featuring ICR from Parascript, that demonstrate impressive accuracy.

Seeing Increased Accuracy from Capture – Robust capture is more than Optical Character Recognition.  From the beginning, Datacap Taskmaster was designed to improve and enhance the results of recognition and it is still a fundamental principle of every system. Invoice Processing User Case Study - Goodyear – Hear from Datacap user Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company about the implementation and results from their implementation of Taskmaster for Invoices.  This session will cover the user experience from vendor search right through to completed application, with an emphasis on the cost savings achieved.

Medical Claims User Case Study – Operating Engineers – California’s union of Operating Engineers offers health insurance for its membership. In 2007, they went live with Taskmaster for Medical Claims integrated with OnBase from Hyland Software. The results are rapid claims processing and a dramatic reduction paper storage. Operating Engineers will cover all aspects of the process, with an emphasis on cost savings achieved.

Invoice Processing Case Study – Kent County Michigan’s Kent County integrated Taskmaster for Invoices with OnBase from Hyland Software in 2007. Kent County will recap the experience with a look at how Datacap and OnBase software work together to help them realize cost savings.

Distributed Capture Case Study - Murphy-Hoffman Company Headquartered in Kansas City, Mo. Murphy-Hoffman owns and operates a 10-state network of Kenworth truck dealerships, with additional sites for leasing and servicing all makes of trucks. A total of 61 locations are connected via Taskmaster Web for remote scanning and capture of repair orders, work orders, and invoices which are uploaded to headquarters. MHS estimates savings of more than $400,000 from distributed capture. This session will tell you how.
