Datacap Customers Recognized For “Pushing the Capture Envelope”


Tarrytown, NY – (November 15, 2007) – Datacap Inc., the leading provider of flexible capture and forms processing software solutions, today announced the recipients of the Second Annual Datacap Capture Excellence Awards. Datacap has long recognized that the most demanding organizations make the best customers. In addition to enabling Datacap’s Taskmaster to utilize all of its capabilities, clients help to Datacap’s developers to push those capabilities in new directions.

With more than 2,000 employees serving Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley, Capital Blue Cross, a non-profit health insurer for Pennsylvania, is one of the largest employers in that area. The deployment of Datacap Taskmaster for Medical Claims integrated with Global 360 Imaging and Workflow for NT solution has enabled Capital to fully automate and streamline its entire medical claims processing system across all offices. To increase adminstrator control, all claim verify operators now view claim data through a browser, using Taskmaster Web. In 2007, Capital Blue Cross upgraded to Taskmaster 7, with full rules control over the capture process.

Exel Transportation Services (ETS), an operating company of Exel Supply Chain Services, is part of the Contract Logistics Division of Deutsche Post World Net. ETS provides third-party transportation solutions for the Supply Chain Market via its network of more than 70 independent brokerage offices. In 2007, working with Datacap partner Torrential Data, ETS implemented Taskmaster for Invoices to capture carrier invoice images and support backup documentation, including Bills of Lading and Proofs of Delivery.

Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp. (TBW), based in Ocala, Fla., has grown rapidly from a small-town retail mortgage firm to a top 10 national wholesale mortgage lender. Founded in 1982, TBW today loans more than $25 billion to community banks and independent mortgage brokers across the United States annually and has nearly $5 billion in assets. In 2007, TBW expanded its state-of-the-art distributed scanning and capture system with Datacap Taskmaster. It now scans more than 300,000 pages a day, which has contributed to TBW’s leadership reputation and propelled its growth.

Since 2001, the Virginia Department of Taxation has been recognized as an innovator utilizing technology to improve the efficiency of state tax return processing. With Taskmaster installed by Datacap integrator CGI, Virginia has nearly doubled data entry productivity and in 2007 pushed auto-capture of tax returns to 84%. In addition, Virginia was one of the first states to implement two dimensional (2-D) barcode capture capabilities to further automate the processing of about two million tax returns annually.

Kuehne + Nagel is one of the top three transportation companies in the world, providing sea freight, airfreight, rail and road, and contract logistics. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Kuehne + Nagel Canada is the first division to adopt customs invoice automation. Chosen for Excellence in Innovation 2007, Kuehne + Nagel, working closely with Datacap partner Applied Docs,  extended the capabilities of Datacap Taskmaster to identify and capture complex line items on commercial invoices that can be up to 100 pages long.
