Taylor, Bean and Whitaker Grows with Datacap Taskmaster Web
Meets Increasing Loan Application Processing Needs
Tarrytown, NY - Sept. 12, 2003 - Datacap Inc. announced today a major enhancement to an existing Datacap capture system for Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp. (TBW), one of the nation's top wholesale mortgage lenders with headquarters in Ocala, Florida. Representing nearly $10 billion annually and more than $450 million in assets, TBW's success can be attributed to the company's strong management and marketing teams, strategic partnerships, and technological innovations, including a state-of-the-art capture system built with Datacap Taskmaster.
TBW has been using Datacap software since 2000 to automate the capture of all the documentation associated with each mortgage application - and there are some 190 different documents, which could accompany an application. Currently, the organization's data entry center in Ocala is processing 250,000 to 300,000 pages a day, using nearly a dozen scanners running two shifts, six days a week. With the increasing number of homeowners capitalizing on low interest rates in 2003, the company needed a way to relieve the ever-mounting pressure on their processing center.
TBW is an ideal candidate for a distributed capture system. The company has 12 regional offices, located in California, Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Illinois. Using Taskmaster Web, Datacap's browser-based scanning and indexing solution, TBW can now distribute a percentage of its scanning and capture to its regional offices when volumes are heavy in Ocala.
Currently, in the testing phase, all 12 regional centers will soon be equipped with a Kodak 3500 scanner. To begin scanning and indexing, the regional offices simply open a browser, connect to the Taskmaster Web Server in Ocala and add their password. Once scanned and indexed, the upload of images and index data to TBW's document management system is managed by the Web Server in Ocala. Complete implementation is expected by November 2003.
"We pride ourselves on our ability to leverage technology to keep our products and services competitive, accurate and cost-effective," says Lee Farkas, CEO of Taylor, Bean and Whitaker. "The enhanced Datacap solution has given us another tool to help us not only keep pace with the increasing demand, but raise customer service as well. We've built into the system unique features to enable us to track and expedite applications and facilitate communications between all the parties involved in a mortgage. And that's good business."
