Datacap Teams Up With Lance Armstrong & Tyler Hamilton at AIIM
"Enhance Your Cycle Time"
Datacap is turning AIIM 2005 into a unique cycling event to
benefit two important health-related foundations. Held in Philadelphia this
year, the annual conference for the Association of Image and Information
Management (May 17-19) will be the site of a fund-raising event to benefit the
Lance Armstrong and Tyler Hamilton Foundations.
Built on the theme of "Enhance Your Cycle Time," Datacap and
many of its industry partners have organized a fund designated for the
participating foundations. Partnering with Datacap are leading vendors in
scanning, capture and enterprise content management, including Fujitsu,
FileNet, Canon, Stellent, Böwe Bell + Howell, IBML, Hyland OnBase, Vignette,
Kofax, and Océ.
With a road-racing Litespeed bicycle mounted on an indoor
"trainer" in the Datacap booth, there will be ongoing fundraising activities
throughout the show. The bike is provided by one of Philadelphia's leading
bicycle retailers: Bicycle Therapy (www.bicycletherapy.com)
In the spirit of competition, the funds raised will be
shared between two health-oriented foundations created by professional
cyclists. The distribution of donations between the two foundations will be
decided by the sponsoring vendor whose rider posts the best time over a virtual
"course" on the trainer in the Datacap booth (#1137).
To raise awareness of the foundations and the cycling competition, professional
and elite amateur cyclists will be available in the Datacap booth to answer
questions about racing, equipment and cycling technique. They'll be wearing a
special custom cycling jersey, featuring all the participating sponsors' logos.
AIIM attendees will be eligible to win a Litespeed racing
bicycle by entering a raffle in the Datacap booth. Datacap will also give away
Lance Armstrong LIVESTRONG bracelets to AIIM attendees, each of which
represents a $1 donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
"'Enhance Your Cycle Time' works as a theme for us at
AIIM, because our customers see reducing the turnaround time to process
documents as a primary benefit of an investment in Datacap," said Scott Blau,
Datacap CEO. "We are delighted that so many of our partners have joined with us
to raise funds for these important causes and promote the health and ecological
benefits of cycling."
Organizations and individuals can make a donation to the
"Enhance Your Cycle Time" Charity Fund and participate in the cycling contest.

Datacap Releases Taskmaster 6.2
Greater Flexibility, Improved Performance
April 15 marked the release of Datacap Taskmaster 6.2,
the latest release of Datacap's rules-based data and document capture
software that provides point and click flexibility, as well
as browser-based scanning and indexing, and vertical applications for
medical claims and invoices.
Taskmaster 6.2 provides greater recognition accuracy
and improved document identification with new ImageFix Actions and Pattern
Matching Actions.
Unparalleled security for capture system administrators has
been added to Taskmaster. Taskmaster Executive Service requires
a password login to access Taskmaster data, and futher aids in compliance
with HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other regulations which protect sensitive data.
Click N Key for OMR is another data entry time saver
that enables an operator to click on the image, where the check box is located,
and it automatically populates the data field.
Taskmaster 6.2 will be released April 15. Upgrades are free to all Datacap
customers under maintenance. To request an upgrade, visit the Datacap
website, click on Request Software Updates and follow the
instructions.

Liquidation Services Company to Use Taskmaster for Bankruptcy Processing
Wasting no time, ImageMax has already provided a Taskmaster implementation
to one of the nation's premiere services for managing the administrative and
information requirements of the nation's largest bankruptcy proceedings.
Chapter 11 involves a multi-stepped process with overlapping

filing in disparate systems - making the process more challenging. This
company specializes in streamlining and consolidating data from multiple
entities and presenting information in one accessible
database. They can now automate the imaging, capture and
storage of Proofs of Claims and other back-up documents, required in the

Tips And Tricks
Working With Rules in Taskmaster
In March, Datacap debuted a series on Datacap's rules-based
architecture, which enables easy implementation of the most complex and
demanding capture workflows by non-programmers. We began with a description of
rules and how they work. In this issue, we'll look at how to integrate
rules into an application that will capture data and documents.
In Taskmaster, pre-scripted actions are clustered
together into rules, which can be used to control every aspect of the capture
process at every level: batch, document, page and field. To create an
application, users must first create a Document Hierarchy (also called a
Datacap Object or DCO), and then apply the rules that will best accomplish the
desired results.
To create a DCO, imagine a cascading hierarchy that begins at
the top level with a batch. Within a batch are documents, and within
documents are pages. Finally, at the lowest level, are the fields on each
page. Setting up a new application entails defining the contents of a batch,
the documents in that batch, the pages in each document and the fields on each
page targeted for capture.
First, a user scans samples of all the documents they want to
capture. Using the new Taskmaster Application Wizard in 6.2, creating a
new DCO is a simple point and click process that involves answering prompts and
then naming the various elements in the DCO.
Building a new application can take just a matter of minutes.
Along the way, the Wizard also helps you create "Fingerprints," which is
Taskmaster's way of automatically identifying pages. Once you can identify
pages, by comparing them to page types in the "Fingerprint Library," you can
automate indexing or trigger business-specific rules that help speed the
processing of documents.
The Wizard also automatically generates a verify
screen for each page, showing the fields you have selected for capture.
When your DCO is complete, a series of default rules is applied to control
batching, recognition, and validations.
At this point, to customize the application to your
organization's business rules, you simply open Taskmaster RuleManager,
which presents an easy interface for adding rules from the rule library,
modifying existing rules, or creating new rules, using Microsoft VBScript.
