Datacap FastDoc Capture Now Undergoing Beta Testing

Resellers and End Users Try Out The New Automated Indexing product from Datacap

FastDoc Capture is Datacap's new document capture solution that applies innovations developed for high end forms processing to the task of automating indexing. It is the first recognition-assisted indexing solution that requires no complicated set-up, at a price point comparable to capture products with no recognition.

Developed for the emerging small and medium size business market that is migrating to Microsoft SharePoint for affordable ECM solutions, Datacap FastDoc Capture is a full-featured front-end capture system to reduce manual data entry of document indexes.

A healthy sampling of Datacap Channel partners and end users have heeded the call and joined the FastDoc Beta program. They are currently testing FastDoc Capture with a wide variety of document types and scanners.

Datacap FastDoc Capture is the first Datacap product that runs independent of Datacap's flagship data and document capture platform Taskmaster. It installs as a stand-alone client, and while it is driven by rules like Taskmaster, FastDoc Capture is not designed for customization.

FastDoc Capture has been designed to be easy to use, even for people who have never used a capture system before. Its slick new interface enables scanning, document separation, and verfication all in one screen. FastDoc also automates the identification of documents, using Datacap's innovative "fingerprint" technology.

What really sets FastDoc Capture apart from the competition is the simple set-up for new document types. A user can scan and process the first document, setting up all the required fields and locating the data on a page in minutes, and FastDoc Capture will automatically save and remember that document type the next time one is scanned.

More than a year after implementation, MHC estimates cost reductions of more than $442,000 annually, including eliminated shipping costs, document-retrieval time, and recovered storage space.

The goal of the new site is to quickly find out the areas of interest for each visitor and then quickly move them to the content they need. Once there, case studies, webinars and white papers related to that topic are a single click away.

One of the holdovers from the old site is the Capture 101 section, a primer for the newcomer to capture, that has always received positive feedback. Every day, scores of visitors visit this section looking to orient themselves to the concepts and terms of ECM and understand how capture can help their organization.

The site will also serve the Datacap community with news and information on Datacap software and various activities of interest to end users, Channel Partners and Technology Partners.
