A user has only a split second to make a decision about recognition accuracy. The document image is displayed on screen along with the recognition results, and the user must decide whether those results need correction. The closer the recognized data is to the field image, the faster the user can make an accurate determination of the results.
Taskmaster uses "snippets" to display the field image. A snippet is just the small rectangle that contains the image of the field, maybe with a little context. The snippet is portable, i.e. it can be placed anywhere on the screen - the handiest place is to put it right next to the field data that was recognized. That way the user can see the field image and data in a single glance, without searching over the page. Learn more about Taskmaster's verify screens.
Verification is more than just looking at the image and data. Users have to be able to make changes - fast. They have to be able to remove bogus recognition results, overtype bad data, jump to the next problem field, magnify or scroll up and down the image, all from the keyboard, with a minimum of keystrokes. Verification does not require a fast typist, but a fast thinker, who can learn to quickly correlate the image and data.
